Installation of WordPress
It took me almost one week, from securing my domain, uploading of the wordpress, error here and there, and finally, i am somewhere near to installation but not fully successful. It almost makes me goes *bonkers* with the editing of php files, learning what is actually a cpanel, and what it ftp…. It all sounds so new to me, and even though i got it thru the hard way, no regret that i have actually learn a lot these days.
Hope to make it to my own domain asap. hope to continue soon in www.demoments.net/blog
Installation of WP in progress…
After a long long wait, finally my domain was ready for the first time in my life. Managed to get the domain name of www.demoments.net . Well, setting it up is practically easy as we pay host company to do it. After that, only did i realize i made good work by messying everything up when i tried to upload the wordpress into the server. Everything was in a mess, until a sweet guy by the name of Edward from my host company, www.eternalsolutions.com.my willing to guide me out of it…..*te deng*….finally it is done. But again another obstacle occure whereby i need to do the editing for the wp-config.php
WP can be very informative and useful if one can understand the technical terms that they used. But for IT novice like me, i can’t get what it is trying to say even by looking into its tutorial. There is so much more to learn, i guess…
QiQi slides In

Yam Cake (Wu Tau Kou)
My family, especially my father has always love yam cake. And since Aunty Kuan (QiQi’s baby sitter) has good experience of making such kuih, I decided to get to be my teacher. After getting the ingredients, we start off this morning at 10am.
Ingredients
1 yam, cubed
5 cloves garlics
(A) Mix Well
1 packet blended rice flour
2 tbsp tapioca flour
Water
Seasoning – salt, 5 spieces powder, sugar to taste
Garnishing – shallot crisp, dried prawns crips
Method
Heat oil and sauté shallots and dried prawns (separately) till crisp. Dish out and set aside.
Saute garlic with remaining oil, add in yam and stir-fry till fragrant. Mix in water and bring to boil.
Add in mixture (A), cook batter becomes thick. Pour out batter into a greased tray to steam (30minutes).
Once yam cake is cooled, add garnishing and serve with your favourite sauce (I use sweet black sauce from the market).
Guess what’s the taste like ? Haha….of course it is YUMMY!! (with full supervision from a teacher). Do look out for my next project, which will be LOH MAI KAI (Glutinous Chicken Rice).
Playgroup (7/04/07)
Many issues are supposed to be done by now, and yet many issues are not settle till today. Issues like the decision mande on charges of having extra kids coming, setting a limitation of children’s participation for a class, a monthly duty roaster, shall we have “puja” like what bigger kids are doing in Dharma school, argh……many many issues more. Now i do realize it isn’t easy coordinating a playgroup just like that.
However, the warm attendance and coorperation of mums that has been attending the weekly playgroup has made it a success so far since are all just ordinary mums, mostly corporate working ones, and none of us are experts in running a childcare centre.
Running into our 4th session, we are so much better organized this time. Each knows more of what to do, and what is next. And this is how we look like in this session.
Butter cake
Ingredients: 250g butter, 100g castor sugar, 4 fresh eggs, 250g self raising flour, and 1/2tsp vanilla essence.
Friday is my baking day again
Today I decided to bake just a plain butter cake. 2nd time baking is definitely more easier, more faster as I know what to prepare and do, and less mess too, hehehe…..In my experience, I find that butter cake has got more coarse texture as compare to cheese cake (my first project last friday). However towards the end, only i realized that I have forgotten to sieve the flour
Therefore my nanny suggest that I mix the mixture into more fluffy so that it will be more “light”. Well, after 45mins baking in the microwave, my cake came out just fine.
KLSE
On and off I have been investing, only putting in money and my mum is the one who is doing all the monitoring. But recently I started of to utilize my free afternoons to learn more about share investment. Like used to say, Malaysia has got a very unpredictable market, and well, I guess that’s how people make money out of the ups and downs.
I also attended a short seminar about US stock options. Seems that this is something not very popular, sounds pretty interesting though, i decided to put that project on hold until i learn how to market moves and it’s all about.
And here i am, along with the movement of KLSE
The Secret
Have u watch this movie called The Secret ? It was a great movie, a top ranking in US and most sought by many, and even being played by many big companies. It is a documentary like movie, whereby it features about how to become successful, how to achieve the dreams that you want, or how to get to live the life that u have always dream of. For me, it is more like a “mind control and manifest” kind of thing.
Well, for most of us, with or without realizing, it happens to us all the time in our life. Imagine, u are in tthe in midst of seraching for a car park in a crowded car park, and just becoz u believe there should be one for you right at the entrance, and true enough, there is one right in front of your eyes. They called it the “Law of Attraction”. U attract what you want into your life by imagine it hard, then your though will manifest you to put action into getting it. I watched this DVD 5 times. Must be pretty interesting, isnt it ?
Playgroup (31/3/2007)
This is our 3rd session of playgroup.
9 Mums who came are : Siaw Wei, Cheng Sim, Clarice, Audrey, Kelly, Vignes, Joanne, Kristin and Chin Nee. And coincidently we have 3 dads who tagged along (whom were either driver or mum’s assistant). And of course not forgetting the 15 childens from the 9 families…
As the group is unexpectedly bigger than our previous, kids are getting a little bit out of control but we were all having lots more fun. As most of the mums are quite new to the group, all were happily chatting away, getting to know each other. After the kids’ snack time, we did a very nice straw craft, the paper Apple Mobile, which was prepared by mummy Siaw Wei (refer to the photo above). After each kid had their master piece, children helped to clear off the mess and we sat in a circle for our story telling time. Kristin did a wonderful expressive story telling of the “3 Little Piglet & The Big Bad Wolf). We then sang some songs and dance along. Finally at 12noon, the group ended by the Barney song “I Love You” and children gave each other a goodbye hug.
My First Bake (Crunchy Cheese Cake)
Since young, I have great interest with everything to do with food (from preparing to eating). My mum wasn’t very much of a good cook, though I must admit I still love and miss her cooking (my childhood taste) nowadays. I have always love my grandma’s cooking, but I din have the chance to learn from her as she always finds that I was a nuisance in the kitchen when I tried to help (most probaly at that time I was too young to handle fire
Now I have got all the time in the world to learn and experience. Hence , I decided to learn to bake. Picking up a good local baking book, and some ingredients (gosh, they are expensive !!), i decided to do a cheese cake. Thanks to my nanny, who has offered me to do my experiement in her house as she has all the baking accessories one needs.
With a high enthusiam to bake, we decided to start up this morning. Well, after a whole mad morning, with QiQi fancying eating on with my beaten up butter, we managed to bake a butter cake, with lots of cheddar cheese as topping and this is how it looks like. My first cheese cake.
